LocalPros was born out of Juvens Nampong’s dream. Raised amidst the breathtaking mountains of Flores, his heart was drawn to the allure of the sea. Choosing to settle in Labuan Bajo, he dived into the diving sector, initially as a humble member of the boat crew. Determined to conquer the waters, he taught himself to swim and gradually found comfort beneath the surface.
His passion for the underwater world and the wonders of Komodo National Park only grew stronger. Juvens’s journey didn’t end with becoming a certified PADI Dive Instructor; it was just the beginning. He thirsted for knowledge on how to create sustainable and captivating dive experiences. Eagerly, he participated in numerous workshops, seeking ways to benefit both the environment and the people involved.
LocalPros stands as a testament to Juvens Nampong’s unwavering dedication, his love for the oceans, and his commitment to making a positive impact. We had a wonderful 4-day cruise diving and snorkeling with Local Pros in the Komodo National Park. The instructor was very supportive for the beginner diver. He also had a detailed knowledge of the Komodo park and the changing diving conditions around these islands. The whole crew on the boat was very friendly and the food was fantastic and plentiful. This was an experience that we will always remember. And it is a nice way to support local entrepreneurship. We wish to be back soon!

I went on my first discovery dive with Local Pros last week and I am already planning my next trip back to dive with them again!! They were absolutely incredible from start to finish! I originally chose the company because I wanted to experience diving in Komodo with a local dive master with an in depth knowledge of the area. This was clear immediately when we left the harbour with several other big diving tour boats and our boat took us to completely empty dive sites for us to enjoy all to ourselves! I dived with Juvens who was THE BEST! He made me feel comfortable and calm from the start and just made the whole experience so magical! The marine life we saw was out of this world! More turtles than I can count, manta rays, sharks and so many amazing, colourful and diverse fish! I learned after the dive how Juvens had started Local Pros after being a dive master for years working with the big companies who are largely owned by European owners. I honestly cannot stress enough how incredible Juvens and his team were, the whole experience was a perfect and I will continue to recommend Local Pros to everyone I meet!!

Juvens of local pros had so much knowledge and made me feel super safe, took us to the best dive spots that had no other boats, I could only think he knew these spots as he’s local, we saw everything and more than we wanted. It was an incredible day I couldn’t ask for more from a guide. He took some incredible photos too!
